Field Roast rocks!

Congratulations to Sarah Ditullio, of Chelmsford, MA, the winner of Peta2's 'Win This Guitar From Chris Walla' contest. Sarah won not only a rockin' guitar, a rockin' CD, but some rockin' Field Roast products as well!

Chris Walla, Death Cab for Cutie Guitarist and producer of awesome acts Tegan and Sara and The Decemberists, has been a vegetarian since he was 15. His new solo album, entitled Field Manual and a Peta2 branded guitar were up for grabs in the Peta2 giveaway.

The folks at his record label, Barsuk, had tasted Field Roast at our local awesome vegetarian pub Georgetown Liqour Company and asked us to be a part of it as well. We were honored!

What Sarah won:

A peta2 Epiphone Les Paul Jr. guitar, a copy of Field Manual, and a ton of vegan goodies from Field Roast, including vegan sausages, a Celebration Roast, White Truffle Pâté, a Classic Vegan Meatloaf, and a tee!

Pimenton Masa De Maiz is Chipotle Corn!!

Just about a year ago a delicious new Field Roast cutlet was born: our Pimenton Masa De Maiz, who along with his brother Porcini Dijon took our delicious breaded vegetarian meats to a whole new level of exquisite international flavors. Chef David Lee blogs about them: here.

We’ve decided to give the Pimenton Masa De Maiz cutlet a new name: Chipotle Corn; a straightforward approach to the complex world of flavors this unique cutlet contains.

The Chipolte Corn cutlet is inspired by the warm, rich culinary traditions of Spain and Latin America. The meat at the center of all this is made with smoked paprika, chipotle peppers and apple cider vinegar, which give it spicy savory notes. The breading is really what really separates the Chipolte Corn Cutlet from our other cutlet flavors. Its base is masa flour the same stuff that's used to make corn tortillas and chips. The breading also has whole corn and red peppers in it.

Delicious as an entrée centerpiece with a mole sauce, or served on a platter garnished with fresh salsa and cilantro, or even placed on a bun with a zesty special sauce for a delicious new vegetarian burger, the Chipotle Corn cutlet will fire up your culinary senses.

All of our cutlets are available as food service items, for restaurants and delis. Look for the Chipotle Corn cutlet in the prepared foods section of Whole Foods in the Southwest and Midwest regions and maybe soon to a store near you!

EXPO West in Anaheim!

Field Roast attended the Natural Products Expo Show in Anaheim, CA! For those of you who have never been to a large trade show of this magnitude, it is quite an experience indeed! New Hope Media is a Colorado based company that runs the details of these shows, one on the west coast, and another on the east coast. The Anaheim convention center is just 5 torturous minutes from Disneyland, and really a beautiful space.

Our booth was downstairs in Hall E, or the "hot products" hall. It ended up being a great place to sample out our veggie sausages and scrumptious Celebration Roast! The air was literally buzzing upstairs in the larger halls, and as I roamed through all of the booths there, I noticed tons of companies who I know and love! Pro Bar was there with their AH-mazing granola meal bars, Amy's Kitchen, Life is Good, and Meyer's cleaning supplies too. Strolling for your lunch was an easy venture, tasting this, nibbling on that, though it was just as easy to return to our Field Roast booth with something David likes to refer to as "sampler's stomach."

Many current customers came around to greet us, and it was really great to put faces to the voices I talk to all the time on the phone. When you sit at a desk most of the time, meeting people is truly exciting! We met tons of great people and signed up to go again next year!
